Supporting the Digital Infrastructure for 112 California Community Colleges.

Admin Support

The California Community Colleges Technology Center provides administrative and event support for the following statewide initiatives:

  • Systemwide Architecture Committee (SAC)
  • Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Committee (TTAC)
  • Tech III Strategic Planning

An expanded description of each area of administrative services follows:

Systemwide Architecture Committee (SAC):

The Systemwide Architecture Committee (SAC) provides technical expertise for planning the development and growth of the systemwide information-technology (IT) infrastructure for California Community Colleges (CCC).

SAC is a subcommittee of the Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Committee (TTAC). SAC works in close coordination with TTAC to develop strategic plans, policies, implementation strategies, practices, and standards regarding the systemwide implementation of IT infrastructure.

The Technology Center supports SAC by coordinating its quarterly meetings and annual face-to-face gathering.

Telecommunications and Technology Advisory Committee (TTAC):

TTAC advises the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office on the continued development and deployment of telecommunications and educational technologies in the California Community Colleges. The committee researches technology trends and recommends the direction for technology infrastructure initiatives within the California Community Colleges system. It meets four times a year.

The Technology Center supports TTAC by coordinating its quarterly meetings and its annual Tech III Strategic Planning retreat.

Systemwide Technology Strategic Planning:

The Tech IV Strategic Plan is being developed as a wiki-page to facilitate collaboration and stand up a 'living document' that can respond to rapid change in the technology environment.

The Tech III Strategic Plan was developed concurrent to the CCC System Strategic Plan (SSP) through an extensive consultation process with CCC technology leaders statewide. With the SSP as its guiding framework, Tech III provides a roadmap for CCC systemwide Information Technology (IT) efforts. Tech III intends to convey how coming changes in IT will power new learning dynamics and overcome formidable challenges facing the CCC and all of higher education in our nation today.
